About
What is —ography?
We interview, write and publish your story into a book just for you and your community, capturing just how special these memories are to you.
What makes —ography different?
We are compassionate believers that we all have something to learn from one another. As much care is put into the process as the final product, because we wholeheartedly think connecting with your life stories is even more important than book itself. So why rush the process?
—ography isn’t really about us, though. It’s about the movement of sharing stories and treasured memories with our loved ones while we can. It’s about listening and being present with others authenticity.
Our Values
Connection
We connect the dots, each pillar of your story, to inspire and share the bigger picture.
Compassion
We get out of the way, so we can share the true essence of your story.
Community
We build compassionate community through storytelling.
Authenticity
Compassion comes first, always.
Our Mission
Everyone who has their memory book written can feel seen, heard, and understood.
That their memories are preserved in a keepsake that feels true to them.
The back story
It’s pretty unusual for a 23 year old to work at a hospice,
but that’s where I found myself after moving back to my hometown in 2018.
I loved it. The people. The connection. Helping people make lasting memories with their loved ones.
The hospice had volunteer life reviewers, who would visit the patients and share their stories in books generously funded by an anonymous donor.
I would answer phone calls from members of the community asking if our volunteers could write their family stories—they’d even pay a premium for it.
It got me thinking, who was telling these people’s stories?
The people who weren’t in end of life care, or celebrities who had publishing deals.
I was a communications expert, with a love for storytelling. I knew I had to be the one change how biographies were told.
After leaving my role at the hospice I trained as a volunteer life reviewer with my old team, and experienced first hand the humbling process of listening to someones life stories.
Fast forward a few years, —ography was born out of wanting to be the ear for people’s stories, transforming them into a treasured keepsake.
